The confidence you need to smile naturally

Cosmetic dentistry

Whether you are an existing or new patient, why not take advantage of a FREE cosmetic consultation with one of our cosmetic dentists? We'll focus on enhancing the appearance of your smile and your appointment will begin with an informal discussion about your unique smile goals. We take photos and identify the features you would like to improve, plus discuss bespoke treatment options - helping you to achieve the look you desire.

In some cases, we can provide you with a digital smile simulation that will give you an idea of how you will look once treatment is complete. Cosmetic treatments needn’t cost the earth and the results are often life-changing. If you are interested, please contact the reception team who will be happy to help you arrange an appointment.

Brighten your smile

Teeth Whitening

Do you have stained or discoloured teeth that make you self-conscious about smiling? Tooth whitening is a simple way to enhance the appearance of your smile.

Most people's teeth discolour with age and certain foods and drinks, smoking and some medications can cause staining. Whitening is a safe process that will lighten the colour of your teeth by using a dental bleaching agent in the form of a gel.

We custom-make lightweight plastic trays for you that fit snugly over your teeth.

You then place whitening gel inside the trays and either wear them at night, or for a few hours during the day depending on your preference.

Results are normally seen over 1-2 weeks. The results vary from person to person and your dentist will be able to give you an idea of the likely results during your consultation.

After your course of treatment is complete, the results are likely to last between 12-24 months.

As long as you keep the trays safe, you can 'top up' the effects by buying the gel and using it for 2-3 days to refresh the colour.

Some patients are not suitable for tooth whitening and your dentist will assess your suitability during your consultation.

gaps, chips or worn teeth

Bonding

This is a simple and minimally invasive way to improve the aesthetics of your smile if you have any small gaps, chips or worn teeth. By 'bonding' tooth-coloured composite material to your existing teeth the shape, size and profile of your teeth can be positively transformed. It is usually a pain-free procedure as in most cases the teeth themselves do not need to be drilled in order to bond the material.

You can even have a full smile makeover with bonded composite veneers. They are unlikely to last as long as porcelain veneers before they have to be replaced but are less destructive to your existing teeth. They are often used as a transition technique before the placement of porcelain veneers.

Replace metal fillings

White Fillings

One option to improve the appearance of your smile is to have your old, metal fillings replaced with tooth-coloured composite or 'white' fillings. This is a safe procedure in which the metal filling in the tooth is removed, including any decay detected and a tooth-coloured filling is placed instead. This will allow you to smile without a metallic glint in sight, giving your teeth a more natural overall appearance.

We believe prevention is better than cure and will always encourage and guide you in looking after your teeth to prevent decay in the first place. If however, you do require a filling then we like to recommend tooth-coloured fillings as a solution that is both aesthetic and functional.

Disguise any imperfections

Porcelain Veneers

If your teeth are badly stained, crooked, chipped or heavily worn then porcelain veneers may be a treatment option worth considering. They mimic the appearance of natural teeth and the overall cosmetic improvement can be astounding.

A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured piece of porcelain (like a false finger nail) that is 'bonded' to the face of your own tooth. Based on your needs, we can adjust the shape of your veneers to make your teeth look longer or closer together or better aligned. You can have any number of veneers from just one to hide a single discoloured tooth or a whole set, known as a smile makeover.

We would normally recommend orthodontic treatment as the ideal treatment for crooked teeth but if you do not want to wear braces, veneers may be an option for you.

Porcelain veneers tend to last between 5-10 years at which point they will need to be replaced. Whilst veneers are strongly bonded onto the tooth, there are situations in which they will come off. It is important that you keep the veneer so that your dentist can re-bond it.

Mask discolouration

Icon Resin Infiltration

Icon resin infiltration is a new, minimally-invasive technique that can be used to mask permanent white or brown discolouration on your front teeth. This type of discolouration can be frustrating as you may have perfectly healthy, straight teeth but the appearance of them is tainted by white/brown marks.

There are several causes for this type of permanent discolouration:

  • Excessive fluoride intake during tooth development
  • Childhood illness
  • Childhood medications
  • After fixed orthodontic treatment

The procedure is completely painless as there is no need for anaesthetic or drilling and the results are instant. In one visit you can have your smile transformed.

We are proud to be one of the first practices in Surrey to be offering this revolutionary new treatment that is already extremely popular in the US.

In certain cases, the resin infiltration can be used to halt the progression of early cavities. Your dentist will advise you at your regular check-up if you are eligible for its use in this way.

Fill cavities

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays can be made in a dental laboratory by a technician, with the help of impressions taken of your teeth. While these are being made, you will wear a temporary filling. When your inlay or onlay is ready your dentist will glue it into place using a special adhesive, after removing the temporary filling.

Thanks to advances in digital technology (called CAD/CAM) porcelain inlays can be made at the dental practice using a special milling machine known as CEREC. This means you will need less visits to the dentist to have your tooth restored.

Inlays and onlays are two types of restorations that your dentist can suggest if you have a cavity in your tooth that needs to be filled. An inlay is a small filling that fits into the biting surface of a tooth while an onlay covers a larger area of the tooth and is better suited to bigger cavities.

For many years, gold has been used to make inlays and onlays because it is a hard material and lasts for a long time. Nowadays, tooth-coloured porcelain is also used and gives the restored tooth a more natural look, which many patients prefer.

The whole treatment was really easy and the result is brilliant.
— Natasha, Guildford

I was thinking about having teeth whitening done for my wedding and I mentioned it to Mrs Pritchard at my dental appointment. I expected that I would be in and out in an hour but there's so much more to it than that to make sure your teeth and gums are properly looked after.

The whole service was brilliant and I didn't have any sensitivity like some people do. I had special moulds made for my teeth and whitening gels, and I had regular checks to make sure that I wasn't reacting to the gel.

The whole treatment was really easy and the result is brilliant. My teeth are lovely and bright, I'm so pleased. They are perfect and exactly what I wanted – people still comment on my teeth and I had the treatment more than seven months ago.

I was tempted to go for an online tooth whitening deal but I'm so glad I didn't, I would definitely recommend going to a dentist. Don't be fooled by online deals - the health and safety of your teeth are important and your teeth could be damaged without proper care from a trained dentist. You might pay a bit extra for it but it's definitely worth it because you get all the care and support you need

Having your say...

I am very satisfied with the treatment I received last month. I was consulted about my treatment and the options I had and also the cost. I am always able to get an appointment, whether it is routine or urgent and all the staff are very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend my dentist to my family and friends.
