Replace missing teeth

Dental implants

Have you lost all or some of your natural teeth? Bridges, dentures and flexible dentures are not the only solution, thanks to advances in modern dentistry. Dental implants are small metal screws that are placed in the jaw so that crowns, bridges and dentures can be fixed onto them.

Implant dentistry offers a clinically proven and safe solution to getting back a great smile. When you lose your natural teeth, your jaw bone and surrounding tissues start to shrink or disappear over time. When implants are placed in the jaw, it stimulates the remaining bone to grow and mesh around the metals.

More importantly, implants help restore function so you can eat, chew and bite with confidence and ease.

We provide the solution to missing teeth

Dental Implant options

Single Tooth

Losing a tooth can be devastating. You can feel self-conscious and suffer a lack of self-esteem. Did you know that your tooth could be replaced quickly and easily with a dental implant?

Multiple Teeth

If you have lost multiple teeth, you may be wearing a denture or partial denture. This can be a real burden, causing embarrassment and discomfort.

All teeth

Missing all your teeth? If you're wearing a denture then chewing and biting food may difficult. Dental implants prevent your dentures fall or slip out when laughing or speaking.

A comfortable alternative to dentures

Sinus Lift

Have you worn dentures in your upper jaw for years? Did you know that there's an alternative, more comfortable option?

If you've worn dentures for an extended period of time in your upper jaw, the bone will have receded, rendering it difficult to undergo implant treatment and giving your face a sunken appearance.

A sinus lift allows a second chance at the functionality and reliability of dental implants.

  • Prior to the procedure, a number of tests will be run to ensure the suitability of the sinuses, which may include panoramic x-rays and CT scans.
  • As with a bone graft procedure, there are several options for the new bone material: from the patient, from other tissue sources (human or animal), or synthetic. Your dentist will advise which will be best for you.
  • The sinus lift procedure will be performed by the dentist under local anaesthetic.
  • After a period of time, the site will be healed and ready for implants.

A sinus lift is a safe and clinically proven procedure and when completed with expertise and care it will provide the best, most stable base for life changing implant surgery.

Life benefits:

  • A more youthful appearance will give you your confidence back.
  • A second chance at the comfort and security of dental implants
  • A long-term investment in your health and wellbeing

As with any surgical procedure, at our practice we ensure that you understand all aftercare instructions and will check back with you regularly to ensure the healing is going smoothly.

A foundation for dental implant treatment

Bone grafts

Those who have worn dentures for years are likely to have suffered bone loss. But this does not mean you are unable to receive dental implants; you can still have successful implant surgery through a clinically proven procedure called bone grafting.

Bone loss is bad news, not only for your teeth, but also for the facial structure. If a tooth is lost and not quickly replaced with a dental implant, over time the bone behind it will recede and give the face a sunken appearance.

Bone grafts revitalise and rejuvenate the face and provide the best possible foundation for implant treatment.

Life benefits:

  • A more youthful appearance will give you a confidence boost
  • A second chance at the comfort and security of dental implants
  • A long-term investment in your health and wellbeing
  • Bone for a graft is usually taken from your lower jaw. Your own tissue is most likely to be successful, but other human or animal sources can be used. In some cases, synthetic material may be the best option.
  • Our dentist will insert this bone expertly into your jaw. The reallocated bone will mesh seamlessly into the surrounding tissue over a period of time.
  • Once healed, the implant site will be as strong as natural bone and you'll be ready for implants.

We know that just like any surgical procedure, a bone graft can be daunting. We are more than happy to talk you through your procedure step by step and work out the best arrangement for you. We'll always make sure you're fully aware of every option and comfortable with your informed decisions before moving forward.

Dental Implants

Case Study

When the implant treatment was finished I couldn’t believe it – I’ve had worse fillings!
— Elaine Eason, Nr Guildford

I've had two dental implants and they are fantastic. They feel like my normal teeth and I can eat what I like.

The procedure is no big deal. At the end of my last implant treatment when Mr Pritchard said 'right, that's it', I couldn't believe it – I've had worse fillings! I'm trying to talk all my friends into having implants.

I am a post war child and grew up seeing sets of dentures floating in a glass on my parents' bedside table! This image makes dental implants the only way to go.

Goldsworth Road Dental Centre Practice has an easy payment plan to make treatment more affordable. There are other alternative treatments for replacing missing teeth but bridges aren't that much cheaper. I would highly recommend paying that bit extra and going for an implant. You can't see them, they are completely stable and you don't jeopardise the teeth on either side.

I have been with Goldsworth Dental Practice for over 20 years now and they are by far the best in the area! 5 stars all round!

Have your say...

I am really pleased with my new dentist. The dentist has an excellent patient manner, explains things clearly, with good attention to detail and empathy with how I was feeling. I felt the dentist was very thorough in their examination and dealt with the arising issues well.
