Dear Patients and Friends of the practice,
We hope you had an enjoyable and restful Bank Holiday weekend and were able to connect with friends and family in a virtual sense, if not face to face. It was quite inspiring to watch the news coverage from VE day, and to hear the stories from those who survived the war and to hear how they dealt with all the difficulties they endured.
We had hoped to be able to offer some measure of encouragement with regard to opening the practice following the speech from the Prime Minister at the weekend, but unfortunately there was no clarity about this issue. The Chief Dental Officer and NHS England have not altered the Standing Order guidelines which means we are still restricted to offering you telephone triage in the first instance, and onward referral to an urgent care centre if this is not sufficient to resolve the problem.
For your information however we continue to be available seven days a week for consultation. Where necessary we can arrange phone or video consultations with clinicians for any concerns you may have. Please call Hayley on 07719655279 during the hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 4pm on Fridays. For consultations about Urgent matters please call the practice on 01483495303 and you will be diverted to the on-call dentist from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 4pm on Fridays. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays this will operate from 9am to 1pm.
Please do not use our out of hours number to contact us during the week if you have saved this somewhere as it will only be monitored at weekends.
We have now obtained a supply of prescription medication at the practice, which we are able to dispense if you require them, at a booked time so that you do not have to queue at a pharmacy. You will be asked to wait outside the practice and the medication will be brought out to you. We are providing this service free of charge. We may also in some circumstances be able to help you with temporary filling materials.
Do you know anyone who has dental problems but no dentist and is therefore unable to seek help or advice? If this is the case, we would be happy for you to put them in contact with us. There will be no charge for telephone triage at this time.
We are of course still working on all our plans to return to work as soon as possible with the safety of all of our patients and staff as our prime concern. We will organise lists of people to be seen with priority given to those in need of urgent care or completion of ongoing treatment. We hope you will be patient with us whilst we rearrange our patient flow to reflect the need for increased appointment times to allow for enhanced cross infection control and distance measures. We are looking forward to seeing you in the near future. We continue to be very grateful for all your support and kindness.
Keep yourselves and your families safe and well.
Andrew and Catherine Pritchard
