We will carry out a personalised risk assessment for you, and you may be contacted by a member of the clinical team so that we may understand fully what arrangements your procedure may require. You will be asked to complete a new medical history form and a Covid-19 risk assessment form. We will take payment for your treatment over the telephone.
The front door will be locked when you arrive so we can operate safely. If using public transport, please practice social distancing and wear a face covering. Ensure you have been to the toilet, are well hydrated and have brushed your teeth before leaving home. We will not be using our waiting rooms and toilet facilities.
Please come for your appointment alone unless you need an accompanying person. Please do not bring valuable items as we will ask you to leave your possessions in a box outside the surgery. Call us from your car when you have arrived or text your name to 07719 655279. If you are on foot please wait to be called in at the front entrance to the practice.

You may be provided with a mask Our reception team will be wearing masks and visors for added protection. We will have distance markers on the floor to ensure safe distancing.
Please observe social distancing rules at all times whilst inside the building Our practice will look very bare in order for us to carry out deep cleaning with ease.
All treatment rooms are cleaned and disinfected between patients. You will be asked to leave your coat and bag in the box provided. You will be asked to wash your hands with soap and water before and after. Our team will be wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE)
You may be asked to swill with a special mouthwash for one minute depending on the procedure.

Further to our letter of last week, we want to update you as to our position moving forward. Guidance is still being issued daily, much of it conflicting. The Guidance from our Chief Dental Officer was only received yesterday.
What is clear is that each patient will need to have a personalised risk assessment carried out by the clinical team. This will encompass your general health status, particularly if you are vulnerable or shielding, the nature of your appointment, the complexity of any planned procedures and the current level of National risk alert. We will advise you if we feel you are safe to attend, and if you would like to do so we will confirm an appointment time. If you prefer not to attend at this time, or have been advised against coming in, but are seeking advice, we will be happy to carry out consultations by telephone or video. We will reschedule your appointment at an appropriate time.
We are fully committed to looking after you. We have spent the last weeks carrying out risk assessments and setting up new Standard Operating Procedures to keep all of our staff and patients safe. Our new procedures will require longer appointment times to allow us to maintain social distancing and to carry out enhanced cross infection control. We will therefore be extending our opening hours on a temporary basis to allow us to catch up.
The practice will resume operating from Monday 8th June. We will have a locked door policy initially and entry to the practice will be strictly by appointment only. This will allow us to comply with Government Guidelines in the current state of alert concerning Covid-19, which is high. All patients will be risked assessed prior to appointments, and social distancing measures will be in place. We will shortly be publishing further information about the patient journey to and within the practice on our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages.

We will be checking this hourly during normal opening hours. We will still be offering advice and medication remotely for the foreseeable future for those patients who need to use this service.
