Confident healthy smiles are very attractive

06/02/2020

Warm, open friendly smiles are an attractive feature that often come from having confidence in our teeth, says Kate Prichard the principal dentist at Goldsworth Road Dental in Woking.

Hiding your smile behind your hand or smiling with your lips tightly closed are signs that there is something about your teeth you are unhappy about. It could be that they have become stained due to the natural ageing process or from tea, coffee, red wine or smoking. Or perhaps they are crooked or you have lost a tooth and are aware of the gap. Maybe you feel your breath could be fresher?

Whatever the niggle, our dentists and hygienists can help.

Fresh breath

Bad breath is a common problem that is usually caused by the gases released by bacteria that coat the teeth and tongue and can often be a sign of advanced gum disease.

Some medical problems may be the cause of bad breath including sinusitis, bronchitis, diabetes, liver or kidney problems, and infections of the nose, throat and lungs.

However, bad breath is most often caused by a lack of good oral hygiene. Fortunately, the problem can be easily solved by the simple oral health routine of brushing our teeth for two minutes twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and visiting a dental hygienist.

We’re here to help

If you are worried that your breath isn’t as fresh smelling as it could be, don’t worry – and please don’t feel embarrassed. Our dentist and hygienists deal with this problem all the time, so please ask for their help and advice. Knowing we have fresh breath does wonders for our self-confidence.

Stain removal and cosmetic solutions

We also have a wealth of cosmetic and stain removing solutions at our fingertips should you require them – just get in touch for details.

The door to our Surrey dental practice is always open to new patients, so please feel free to pop into our lovely, welcoming practice on Goldsworth Road or get in touch. We look forward to meeting you and your family soon.
