Tom Bean

Tom is our Specialist Oral Surgeon, providing complex surgical treatment for our own patients as well as patients referred from other practices. He has spent most of his career working in Oral Surgery departments in Hospital settings.

Tom graduated from Plymouth Dental School. He then completed three years of Core Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Hospitals across England and Scotland.

He went on to work as a Specialty Dentist at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. Following this, he completed three years of Specialist Training in Oral Surgery at the Eastman Dental Hospital and East Surrey Hospital.

Tom can provide a full range of Oral Surgery procedures, with a focus on complex and surgical extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth. He also provides intravenous (IV) sedation, which means nervous patients can have treatment they might otherwise avoid or wait months for in a Hospital setting.

Alongside his clinical work, Tom has published several peer-reviewed publications and has presented at national and international conferences. He teaches oral surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate dentists.

He is committed to safe, evidence-based care in a calm environment making sure patients feel informed and supported.

Away from Oral Surgery, Tom enjoys sport playing football and padel and will watch just about any sport going.
